Exhibition themes Tomorrow's ghosts

When Boyd became aware of Peter Stark’s poetry he was inspired to work with him on a collaborative portfolio of poems and prints. Stark’s poetry is rich in imagery; at times delicate and subtle, at others dark and profoundly moving. Stark remarked that Boyd’s interpretations of his poems picked up on aspects that he had not yet fathomed that would come to the fore later on. ‘Arthur detected my hidden preoccupation with the Classical world and its history and myths. His images do seem to me of classical motifs and curious mythologies – like dreamscapes – and for a while they took my breath away.’
