Arthur Boyd: agony and ecstasy is a major exhibition of Boyd’s art showcasing more than 100 works across diverse media: paintings, prints, drawings, tapestries, ceramic tiles and sculptures. The exhibition highlights key groups and series undertaken over 40 years as well as a number of works that have never or rarely been exhibited. Many works from Boyd’s great gift to the National Gallery of Australia in 1975 are included.

Arthur Boyd: agony and ecstasy provides an opportunity to contemplate Boyd’s great ability to express the depth and breadth of human experience and reconsider his extraordinary contribution to Australia’s visual culture.
