In Thanksgiving service, 1945, flags are re-installed in the church at the end of the war. There is a sense of quiet participation, giving thanks in prayer for the end of the conflict. In this work the stillness of the figures is counteracted by the expressive use of colour to impart a vibrancy and joy at the end of the conflict.
