Late Paintings

In Australia and Britain, after the First World War, Long painted many landscapes. Among these are many painted near the lake at Narrabeen.

Unlike his pre-war images these paintings do not conjure up the Spirits of nature, imagined as if they were ‘in fancy or in dream’, but simply present the scene.
