| Thumbs! Children's Postcard Gallery - Children's drawings of their local landscape from around Australia.  This section of the site provides resources for secondary school educators. Ocean to  Outback The National  Gallery of Australia  is proud to present a national touring exhibition of a selection of the finest  landscape paintings from the National Collection. Ocean to Outback:  Australian landscape painting 1850–1950 documents the dynamic century of  Australian landscape painting from the colonial 1850s and gold rush era to the  period immediately following the Second World War.
 The exhibition  is truly national – not only is it touring to every Australian state and  territory, it also includes landscape images of every state and territory.  Notes This resource  has been designed for secondary students for use in the classroom and as an  introduction to the exhibition Ocean to  Outback: Australian landscape painting 1850–1950. The images can be  displayed or used as eight separate cards for individual or group work.  Information is provided for each image. Discussion and activities have also  been suggested.
 ResourcesAn online interactive Google Earth tour of the depicted locations is also provided via the link above. This allows access to all of the works in the exhibition through a 3D tour of the continent of Australia with satellite photographs of the continent. Includes audio and articles providing detail information on all the works of art
 The catalogue  for the exhibition is recommended as an additional resource. It includes an  extensive introduction to the exhibition by Ron Radford, Director of the  National Gallery of Australia,  and catalogue entries on all fifty-eight works in the exhibition.
