Alexander Anderson Senior was the owner of Brocklesby station, a property that initially included part of the township of Corowa. Roberts captured his flourishing business in his iconic Shearing the rams, with shearers the central focus of that work. Roberts first visited Brocklesby in 1886 after Anderson’s daughter Janie married one of Roberts’ cousins.
