Yellow landscape a major work from the late 1960s when a number of Williams’s paintings began to reflect his interest in conveying the sparse Lysterfield landscape a short drive from his Upwey home. The delicacy of colour and sensuous touches of paint over finely modulated ground reflects his increasingly subtle responses to the landscape at this time.
