AES+F

(established 1987 Moscow, Russia)

AES+F is a collective of four artists: conceptual architects Tatiana Arzamasova and Lev Evzovich, multidisciplinary designer Evgeny Svyatsky and photographer Vladimir Fridkes. Taking form as sweeping multi-channel video installations, AES+F are renowned for their ornate and highly theatrical aesthetic. The artists use digital techniques to comment on a range of topics – religion, luxury, consumerism, pop culture and mass media – and in the process, offer viewers a high key vision of a post-contemporary, globalised world. This amped up view on reality is one in which nothing seems quite right, and yet somehow at the same time, blends together seamlessly.
